Welcome back to the island! A lot has changed since you were last here. Let's take a look shall we? I'll make a hot chocolate to warm us up!
Map Changes
Classic with a touch of future. Oasis is back and returning with it is the old but newly refurbished Modern Mall, stacked with all the fun items, tags, and contrails! If you take to the first floor of the mall, you'll be greeted with several spots dedicated to members of our community.
Around the island, the famous slipstream has returned alongside the original pathways, with a beautiful Christmas tree standing tall! The winter season is here and the island is covered in a blanket of snow, lights, and presents!
Fancy rocking out? Check out Olly's Stage, accompanied by your beloved Party Royale music, or if you're more into cafe's, visit Calico Café to chill and eat a variety of.. fish? With a drink on the side - bottles sold separately.
Are you more of a chill islander? Visit Cozy Campsite or the secret Cozy Cabin! Within Cozy Campsite are workshops - we'll explain these shortly, and in front of Modern Mall sits the new Merry Market for all of your consumable needs, because you'll be needing them!
This island is very different from when you saw it last. Strange structures exist here and an icy POI sits next to Cozy Campsite - I wonder why? This doesn't feel like the island we used to know.
A few of the team members have apartments! While the team prepares for bigger things coming in the future, we still wanted them to have their own little place on the map. See the big pillar and interact with it to be teleported there!
The basement entrance is now next to Modern Mall! Enter and you'll see the finely refurbished establishment.
Fancy ice skating? Head over to the snowed over beach to visit Rainbow Rink, or grab a boat with your friends at the docks!
Mechanic Changes
For a more realistic approach, Vending Machines have been replaced with Item Placers. We'll be monitoring how these play out.
Deciding whether or not you want your pickaxe and name visible is now even easier! Use your map key and go over to the Name & Pickaxe Settings section to choose your playstyle with ease. (Please note that this uses the class system, which breaks the campfire interaction. Please interact with the mailbox next to the campfire to fix this.).
Cars have been vaulted! Replacing cars are ballers and boats. Ballers will respawn upon entering Cozy Campsite and so will boats - however, your grappler cannot enter the boat with you. Flying boats? C'mon, we're not THAT futuristic.
AI no more. Wolves and Guards have been vaulted.
Introducing quests - Santa's Workshop style! We've teamed up with members of the community to allow you to craft gifts for them, using resources found around the island! Report to Cozy Campsite for your quests, and when you have the item, deliver it to the first floor in Modern Mall! Why not work together as a community to locate the resources, and make a map to help out others? Don't forget to interact with the mailboxes - our friends have a message for you!
XP
Every 5 minutes you will receive playtime XP. It is limited to one hour so you'll have to rejoin to restart it.
That campfire has had an upgrade! It will give you XP every few seconds as usual but this time it will give you a boost of XP every two minutes.
Mining resources (yes, that includes the wood!) will grant you XP, so if you enjoy collecting thousands of pieces of wood, you'll now be rewarded for it!
As well as mining resources, crafting items and delivering them will grant you XP.
Do you like to dance? We do too. Dance across the entire island to be rewarded with XP.
XP won't be live when the update is - you have to work together as a community to calibrate it - and who knows, you may hit the jackpot with your Chapter 4 Season 1 Battlepass!
Collaborations
Who's that? The Imagined Order? They have taken control of the beach as Doctor Slone arrives at Oasis from Trinity Peaks. I wonder what they're doing here? I suggest checking in with Trinity Peaks!
